Does CBD Improve Mental Health?

CBD is so hot right now. The compound is being added to everything from gummies to lattes, attached to claims about how it can improve health in any number of ways. But what do we really know about the validity of those claims? And what are we actually getting in consumer CBD products?

  1. As a cannabis patient (for the treatment of ADHD, SPD [Sensory Processing Disorder], C-PTSD, ASD [Autism Spectrum Disorder] ) I found that CBD, when smoked, did absolutely nothing; the problem being that CBD doesn't affect your central nervous system nearly as much as THC. For example, THC helps to alleviate an overload of sensory perceptions as the problem lies in my brain and nervous system being too sensitive to external stimuli; imagine the dry, overheated roots of a tree suddenly receiving a wealth of rainwater an' soaks it up like a sponge for some cool relief – CBD, however… just splashes the tree trunk with a bucket

  2. It doesn't react the same in all people. it also depends on the manufactured prescriptions your using, they can have different effects while using cbd. basically it fights off the crap your doctor is making you swallow. cbd attacks the bad just like your immune system. Use common sense and think about it.

  3. placebo or not shit works for me. it helps me mainly with anxiety and occasionally sleep if i use enough. people shouldn’t be upset if it’s a placebo if it actually ends up helping you.

  4. I find it makes me feel agitated. If you want help with anxiety or depression you need to consider using psilocybin. It definitely works. To bad you can't take it every day as it works way better than antidepressants.

  5. All depends on what medication your taking too help you with your mental health, I’m diagnosed with psychosis and adhd, I’m 35 and now they want too give me medication, I won’t take it cos it’s been that long, I’m a none user of drugs n beer but at time have my moods, cbd had no effect on me I just crack on it’s hard but sure we’ll all get there I spend one hour a day on YouTube and I find it better to cope with

  6. This dudes video is BS. The dosages he's discussing has to do with pharmaceutical dosages of CBD isolate. Basically, you need high doses for it to do anything. Now, take a full spectrum CBD that has more than just CBD (terpenes, THC, CBG, etc..) and you'll find that you don't need high dosages for an effect due to something called the entourage effect. Everything I just said can be found on the internet, you just need to find the right sources. There are doctors that get it right, and many who get it wrong. The ones who get it wrong are either negligent or, have big pharma in their pockets…

  7. This is the third time that I buy CBD oil from LeafBoutique Portugal for a very close relative who has been using the oil with success since May 2020 to keep anxiety at bay. This person was in very dark places before as medicines were not working. In May we tried to think outside the box and give CBD oil a try, with the psychiatrist's permission. The situation improved slowly but surely, and now life is much better.

  8. Question: if I'm not mistaken we've confirmed that marijuana treats anxiety, and I've been told that there are 2 active agents in marijuana CBD and THC, why would CBD not treat anxiety if it's the only major non-hallucinogenic active component of marijuana? Am I misunderstanding something?

  9. Opinion, excluding movement, ice packs, etc. for arthritic pain and/or general chronic muscle pain in which OTC, prescribed anti-inflammatory meds including narcotics do not reduce pain, what would be an approx amount/dose of CBD? (While here, CBD can help older dogs with arthritic pain.) Thank you. Take care, everyone. =)

  10. Would you please do an episode on the various new(ish) migraine treatments that have come out in the past year or so, For example UBRELVY and Nerivio? Or about migraines more broadly?

  11. I'd like to see a study on opioids and their effects strictly on anxiety and depression. I was prescribed oxycodone for pain. I felt much less depressed and a lot less anxiety when I took it for the 5 years I was on it. Coming off wasn't easy, but seemed like I went through it much better then others, especially someone I know "trying" to come off of benzodiazepines. They are severely suffering during their gradual taper. I didn't suffer, I just felt sick for a while. However, anxiety has returned since I've come off. Do opioids reduce anxiety? Are there any studies on it?

  12. CBD is psychoactive in the brain! There are CB1 and CB2 receptors that CBD binds to, and that is what makes it psychoactive. However; while CBD is psychoactive, it is not intoxicating or hallucinogenic. Far too many people get this wrong, likely because otherwise informative videos like this one provide incorrect information.

  13. If you're purchasing CBD make sure not to get it from Amazon because all their crap is fake, just because something is called a hemp gummy doesn't mean that it has any CBD

  14. Unfortunately I changed two variables at the same time (vaping CBD, and switching to a calorie restricted, intermittent fasting keto diet). So I don't know which or what combination is responsible. But since those changes I have experienced a HUGE improvement in my anxiety level and mental clarity. Hell, it could even be a placebo effect, or some other unknown factor. But whatever is at work here has radically changed my quality of life over the last 18 months.

  15. I found cbd was great to relax me and let me sleep when I had anxiety attacks, but honestly, i've been correcting people on the depression thing for years. Nope, it won't treat any of the initial list. It works for pain and helping some folks sleep.

  16. Stop legalizing this drug! Think about your life, your family, your country. Smoking pot doesn't make you cool, but studying and working harder to achieve your goals does. Grow up and say NO TO DRUGS!

  17. It helps me sleep. I haven't noticed any other effects, but my insomnia is from my depression, and the lack of sleep makes the depression worse. It's like CBD helps stop the spiral. It's one of the few things that lets me stay asleep for 8 hours.

  18. Works good for me and everyone I have recommended to over the past 15 years. I do grow my own plants and make my own infusions.

As with anything cannabis you can't take a isolate and expect it to work the same. CBD needs other cannabinoids to work. That's the problem with these studies they will never show positive results using a isolate. Also has to be taken with a fat to increase bio availability if ingesting orally. As usual crap info on cannabis with cool graphics. Hard to not have a bias against cannabis when you are trying to gather scientific data on one type of chemical I guess.
