Our Hemp Farming Story – How to grow a profitable CBD hemp farm in 2021

Visit to download the free #Hemp #Farming Timeline and Budget Planner.

One of the major problems with many who are getting into the hemp farming business for the first time is that they have not put in the proper planning on the front end. You need to begin with the end in mind. This means understanding the hemp market.

When growing hemp for CBD, there are really two markets: the hemp biomass market, and the hemp flower market. They are different markets because they have different buyers. The biomass market is typically sold to processors who will extract the oil out of the biomass and sell to buyers who make retail CBD products.

The Beginners Guide to a Profitable Hemp Farm book:

Farming industrial hemp for #CBD is a lot of fun and a great way to earn a living! But there are a lot of things that can go wrong. This video is meant to show the story of our profitable hemp farm, and provide some resources so you can also start a profitable hemp farming business yourself.

The hemp flower market is sold to retailers interested in selling smokable flower. You usually can make more money per pound this way, because you are selling the highest quality part of the plant, but you will have less weight in the end.

The hemp market is changing from year to year based on supply and demand. If there is too much supply, then the price of your hemp biomass will go down. Just because your friend said you can make a lot of money farming hemp does not mean you are right for the business. You need to consider if you have the basic resources needed to farm. It will cost about $10,000 per acre. You will need to purchase plastic mulch, seeds, irrigation components, tractor implements, and labor for the harvest.

It is important to farm around the 45th parallel because during the longest days of the summer you want about 18 hours of daylight. When the days begin getting shorter, the plant will begin the flowering stage where it will begin producing the oil, which is where you will make your money.

In addition, you need to consider where you are going to dry your hemp once it has been cut. If you live in a dry climate that does not have much rainfall in the early Autumn months, you could plan on drying your plants in the field. If you don’t live in a dry climate, you will need to hand dry your hemp plants, or machine dry them (which can be very expensive).

Hang drying takes up a lot of space, so you will need some big storage for drying your hemp.

The first step in farming is to test your soil to understand the PH levels. Once your soil is in good shape, you will lay your plastic mulch, and get the field ready for transplanting. Meanwhile, you need to propagate your hemp seeds in a greenhouse. Once they are strong enough to survive on their own in the field, you can transplant them. We use 8′ rows, and space the plants about 48” apart. This gives them plenty of space to grow large, and produce large buds.

  1. Did you only till once to get the soil correct? Most things I have read claim tilling the soil or horrible for it and the longevity of the soil. I look forward to your input. 🙂

  2. Plants free of water deficit events more efficiently absorb available plant nutrients enabling plants to achieve their maximum genetic potential. SWRT membranes installed below plant rootsystems retain water where it falls, providing continuous delivery of drought-free periods up to 3 times longer than intensely irrigated control sands without root zone water retention membranes (Guber et al, 2016).

  3. Do you send everything to a manufacturing facility to be made into plastics, ropes, biofuel etc? If so, how much do they usually pay per plant? Please reply, thank you!

  4. I have Subscribed to your guys Channel, also I ring the bell so I don’t Miss out on your furniture uploads. We are getting ready for the up coming second growing season here in Kansas. I have a question what kind of genetics are you using for your crop of hemp. Thanks Cody

Me creating GOLD means nothing but 'you' creating GOLD because of what the CREATOR tells is 'everything'.
    STOP CYBER ATTACKING ME.
    GODS 'healing' warrior.
Growing HEMP will 'restore' the soil, atmosphere, economy + create 'carbon' free fuel.
There is a CREATOR and IT returned me from death to give this information.
Because my doctor told me that BIG PHARMA will financially destroy any doctor that proves that THC restores brain injuries made me so upset that I taught myself MOLECULAR SCIENCE and created GOLD. You see I learned TEMPERING long ago and understood about heat manipulating molecules. When I went to the only gold shop in KALISPELL MONTANA and showed JB I reached 22K then he threw me out telling the 'city council' that I am creating FOOLS GOLD pass tests.
You see copper is 179 atoms that will melt at 1400F to 1800F but 'atoms' must be brought to a boiling point that is 3500F and have no OXYGEN putting pressure against it or will expand exploding burning on contact. This must be done for 72 to 100 hours. 100 atoms will boil out and melted BORAX will absorb them leaving 79 atoms that is GOLD.
All this was just to 'prove' that my 5.5 TBI is being restored with THC.
You will lose 67% of weight in transition process.

  13. I would strongly suggest learning and practicing regenerative soil techniques. The way you till your soil, you are destroying the good biome. Having a good cover crop will help regenerate your soil. For Cannabis you are going to need a good mix of peat and vermiculite. I would also recommend increasing your water cycles during flower. This is a vital time in the life of the plant. Under watering is only going to decrease your yeild in the long run.

  14. Champ that is not industrial hemp. Hemp is grown for it's fibre. Not it's flowers. You are growing weed with a low THC profile for it's CBD, that is what you are doing in reality. Stop calling it hemp farming please it's insulting to traditional hemp farmers. They earn next to nothing, whereas you'd be making the equivalent of drug money. That's the truth of it.
